Childhood ADHD increases risk of adult obesity

The study, “Obesity in Men with Childhood ADHD: A 33-Year Controlled, Prospective, Follow-up Study,” in the June 2013 issue of Pediatrics found that men with childhood ADHD are twice as likely to experience higher BMI and obesity rates in adulthood than men without childhood ADHD.

Americans drive more and fly less to Memorial Day celebrations

Approximately 31.2 million motorists will pack the nation's highways this weekend as they drive at least 50 miles for their Memorial Day festivities. AAA Travel projects 34.8 million Americans are traveling for the holiday, a 0.9 percent decrease from the 35.1 million people who traveled last year. The Memorial Day holiday travel period is defined as Thursday, May 23 to Monday, May 27.

Cleveland Metroparks "Train Day" event

From steam to electric, Cleveland Metroparks invites all train lovers to the annual, free "Train Day" event on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CanalWay Center in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga Heights, just below the massive, 2,000-foot long bridge that carries more than 40 trains a day across the valley.
